The Basics of Instagram In-Feed Posts
Instagram posts are what Instagram was traditionally known for: images and videos that appear in a user’s main feed. There are several feed posts types; however, here we are going to talk about the most basic form of a post, an in-feed post.
-
What Are In-Feed Posts?
- Feed posts are typically pictures or videos that an Instagram user will share to their profile on Instagram. These posts are considered your “traditional” posts that will show up on your Instagram grid and give you the aesthetic appeal that you are looking for.
- Instagram posts are perfect for sharing educational, longer-form, type-content. Posts can be published on their own with a single picture, multiple photos, or combined to create what is now called a Carousal
- Unlike Instagram stories, which expire in 24 hours, posts live on “forever”, or at least until they are deleted.
Optimizing Your Post’s Effectiveness
The power and importance of being consistent on social media comes from staying on top of mind with your posting schedule and content. For instance, think of your own buying behavior; chances are, you will be more interested in a product/service when seeing it more than a couple of times. Staying on top of mind doesn’t necessarily mean posting every single day, it is being intentional and precise with what you post.
For most brands, you want to be posting once a day for your account; however, not everyone can do so. Brands achieve their desired results not necessarily through the quantity of their posts but the quality and consistency! Whether you are posting ten times a week, or three, remember to STAY CONSISTENT!!
When sharing post to your feed, you want your content to answer:
- Who you are?
- What do you do?
- How can you help your target audience?
Despite being Instagram’s most generic and original type of post, Instagram in-feed posts are not going anywhere. These posts are where get you the most comments, helping to elevate the public engagement throughout your profile.
Instagram’s app popularity is still on the rise, and it isn’t going away anytime soon, so remember to optimize your content for the best possible outcome. How will you use your next posts to connect with your audience?!
